The RDC-2E captures a large 768 x 576 pixel image, and supports 24-bit
color with a full palette of 16.7 million colors. This high resolution
enables subtle retouching and image manipulation with Ricoh's PhotoStudio,
and ensures high-quality final output.

1cm Close-Ups
When you're in Autofocus Macro using the wide-angle lens, the combination
of Ricoh lens, the sensitive CCD and suberb autofocus capabilities
allows you to focus on objects as close as 1 cm away without using
a close-up adapter. The LCD monitor helps you frame the subject accurately,
opening up enormous potential for micro and macro image capture.

The key to the RDC-2E's picture quality is its image-capturing 410,000
pixel CCD. A mechanical shutter and full-frame image capture system allow
pictures to be taken in one pass instead of two, ensuring that your subjects
have smooth outlines and that focus is sharp right to the edges of the
frame.
Auto Focus
With the RDC-2E's through-the-lens passive-type Auto Focus, anyone can
capture sharp, beautiful pictures without a lot of fuss. Unlike other
autofocus systems, the TTL Auto Focus captures your subject's contrast
precisely, and allows for perfect focus on objects from one cm to infinity
in range. The RDC-2E also lets the photographer in you take command
with a Manual Focus Mode--a feature most other digital cameras simply
don't offer.
Continuous
Mode
Continuous mode is great for capturing fast-paced action. At one frame
per second, you can capture dozens of images quickly and easily. And
later you can choose the shots you want to keep using the PhotoStudio
software.
