Replacement parts for our Caplio GX100 digital camera United Kingdom

We have determined that nine Caplio GX100 digital cameras, which were sold in the United Kingdom should have their power buttons replaced. The cameras was sold beginning 20 April 2007.

1. Background

The substance PBDE was widely used in electrical and electronic products (including cameras) until a concentration limit was imposed on its use as of 1 July 2006 by legislation. PBDE is a flame retardant used in plastics or fabrics. Due to a manufacturing error the amount of PBDE in the power buttons in 9 cameras exceed the permitted concentration limit.

2. Free Replacement Of Power Button

We can confirm that the power button in the affected cameras have no effect on the use of the product. However, we would like to have the opportunity to replace the power button in order to ensure that your product complies with all applicable standards.

We ask that any person who purchased or received a Caplio GX100 digital camera after 20 April 2007 checks the serial number on the product.
